Tyson is a Tampa Bay native with a deep passion for financial planning and a strong background in the tech industry. He discovered his love for finance while earning his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Utah. Before transitioning to wealth management, Tyson spent nearly a decade working for a number of tech startups, gaining firsthand experience with the financial challenges that tech professionals face.
While he enjoyed his time in the tech world and valued the people he worked with, Tyson knew it wasn’t his long-term calling. He wanted a role that allowed him to be entrepreneurial while making a direct impact on people’s lives. When the opportunity presented itself, he left corporate life behind to pursue his passion for financial planning.
One of the most rewarding aspects of his work is that he has lived through the same experiences as his clients. He understands the complexities of weighing stock options, benefits, job transitions, promotions, and financial decisions, all while trying to build a life outside of work. Having experienced both the opportunities and challenges of a career in tech, his goal is to help the families he serves make the most of their financial potential.
In addition to his time in tech, Tyson also worked at a proprietary trading firm, where he designed and managed automated trading algorithms for foreign currency and commodities futures markets. This experience gave him deep insights into market behavior and financial strategy, further strengthening his ability to guide clients through complex financial decisions.
At IWM, Tyson takes a personalized approach to financial planning, ensuring that each client’s strategy evolves with their goals and needs. He is committed to financial education, empowering clients with the knowledge to make informed, confident decisions about their future.
Tyson lives in Oldsmar, Florida, with his wife and three children. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active and spending time with his family.
