If you are turning 65 years old this year you will be swamped with mail asking you to sign up for a Medicare Advantage Plan or Medicare Supplement Plan. It can very confusing! First, you must sign up for Medicare with the Social Security Administration by calling (800) 772-1213 or sign up over the internet, http://www.medicare.gov/Default.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
Once you have signed up for Part A and Part B, you will have to decide if you want to go straight Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plan or a Medicare Supplement. There are many options and advantages and disadvantages to all choices. If you want to discuss your options, please feel free to contact me.
